During a massage
session, the therapist eases and separates muscles, fascia, tendons, scar
tissue, and calcium deposits. The hands work to ease tissue pain and
constrictions on a macro level. Epsom salts relax and release the fibers and
spindles that make up the muscles themselves allowing for further releasing and
relaxation of bothersome areas on a micro-level. The warm bath solution also
alleviates swelling, inflammation, and soreness that may occur from deep tissue
massage.
Make an Epsom salt
bath part of your self-care routine weekly and after a massage. Set aside time
for yourself to just unplug. Add some bubble bath, a few drops of essential
oil, your favorite music, a candle, and a beverage. For those of you who find
it hard to fit meditation into your day, download a meditation app or a guided
YouTube meditation video and give it a try in an environment that is set up for
success. Your mind, body, and energy levels will thank you!
This has been a
massage minute. See you on the table soon!
